Re-evaluation Counselling

Share delight

Re-evaluation Counselling (RC) is a peer-counselling system developed by Harvey Jackins in the 1970s that focuses on emotional healing and empowerment.
(Note: You will more often find the U.S. spelling with one less L:  ‘Re-evaluation Counseling’)

The central idea of RC is that people can support each other in healing from past traumas by listening, sharing, and helping each other process difficult emotions.

Through a process known as “discharge,” individuals release the pent-up feelings and emotions that have been holding them back, leading to increased emotional freedom and personal growth. RC provides tools to help people cope with life’s challenges, creating a framework where individuals can build resilience, develop empathy, and increase emotional intelligence.

RC offers a structured approach to helping people re-evaluate their beliefs and emotions, promoting healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
